Key Club Glossary
Below are a list of words that you may hear as a member of Key Club. We hope these definitions help make your Key Club experience even better!
District
|
Key Club International is broken up into districts, normally depending on location and number of members and clubs. We are in the New York State District.
|
Division
|
Inside of each district, there are divisions. This is another way to organize clubs into designated areas so they can communicate with one another. We are in Division 11.

|
Monthly meeting for all the clubs in a division

Fall Rally
|
This convention is like LTC, except it is for only District 11, and is on a much smaller scale. Its location changes every year.
|
Governor
|
Leader of a district and is the district's connection to the International Board. Our 2018-2019 NYDKC Governor is Erica Swirsky.
|
Governor's Project
|
Each service year, the Governor picks a cause or charity to focus on. Money that is raised from club fundraisers can go to towards this project. This year, the Governor's Project is Comfort Cases.

International Convention (ICON)
|
This convention is like LTC, except it is for all of Key Club International. Its location changes every year.
|
Kiwanis
|
The adult version of Key Club. Each Key Club has a sponsoring Kiwanis Club and Kiwanis Advisor.
|
Leadership Training Conference (LTC)
|
The annual conference in the Desmond Hotel in Albany, New York, where all the clubs in New York gather and attend workshops, elect the next district board, and make new friends

Lieutenant Governor (LTG)
|
Leader of a division and is the division's connection to the District Board. Our 2018-2019 Lieutenant Governor is Mara Yella from HSMSE!

Project Leader
|
For every volunteer event our club goes to, there is a project leader who is in charge of signing each member in and out, taking pictures, and writing a short article after the event is over. Project leaders also receive extra hours and it is recommended that they arrive at the event early.

Service year
|
The Key Club service year is separate from the normal school year. Each service year begins and ends at the Leadership Training Conference
